Administrators Overview

Before reading anything further, it is important to understand that if you manage a domain for a school or a district, you stand between Kami users being able to use Kami. User management is up to you as the admin.

Please make sure not to skip any steps and implement everything that applies to you and your school/district.

If you need help with anything, please contact support@kamiapp.com. Our support team can also assist with setting up Kami for your school/district over a video call if you desire that instead of doing this without active assistance.

1. Add the Kami Extension for everyone

Deploying the extension for all your users. This will allow your users to have instant access to Kami and will let Kami be linked with multiple documentation sources. Learning Management systems and other file/recourse management systems.

❗️ The extension is one of the most valuable things you can give your teachers and students. It allows them to create Kami assignments, Grade with Kami in their Learning Management System. On the student end it allows them to turn in/submit their assignments without having to manually submit them.

2. Creating a Kami account for managing/installing Kami

You will need to have a Kami account to be able to do any of the things mentioned past this point. You can view this article on how to do that.

Often, our Admins don't understand that they are in charge of managing the users on the license they purchase. We try to make it as simple and effective as possible so you don't have to spend a lot of time on this type of management when needed.

If you are using Google OU to manage your license, please make sure to create your Kami account under the email that you use to log in as an Admin in Google Workspace. This is to ensure that you have appropriate rights to add and change a Google OU deployment on your license.

3. What do you have to install?

Every Admin will have different priorities under this section. Please check the Titles of each section below to make sure that it is applicable to you:

a. Third-Party Apps and Network settings etc.

The first section is required by everyone. This is to ensure that your users are able to use third-party apps; if you don't install/approve the following, your teachers/students will run into issues.

b. Google Users

c. Canvas users

d. Schoology users

e. Microsoft users + Microsoft Teams

4. What do you have to manage after installation?

It is important to remember that your License is yours to manage. Here are the information packages you need to be able to manage what you need:
