What is the Kami external tool integration for Toddle?
The Kami external tool integration helps you get the most out of your Toddle workflow. With this installed, you can:
- Create Kami assignments in Toddle.
- Give feedback and grade Kami assignments.
- Sync your feedback or grading annotations in real-time.
- Use the Questions AI tool to level up your assignments or create assessments.
- View student progress in real time with Class View, or make immediate changes in Edit Assignment.
Installing the Kami external tool integration
1. Navigate to your Kami License Dashboard via the Account & Settings menu in Kami or by going directly to customerpanel.kamihq.com.
2. On the left-side menu, select the Learning Management Systems tab, then select LTI 1.3. On the LTI 1.3 registrations page that opens, select the New Toddle Registration button.

3. In a separate tab, log in to your Toddle environment and navigate to the Admin portal by selecting the title of the desired program in the top right corner of the page, then choosing Admin portal from the drop-down options.

4. Once in the Admin portal view, find the Integration settings from the left sidebar menu. It's near the bottom of the list, under the Other Settings section.

5. On the Integration > LTI apps page, select the + Add button in the upper right corner, then choose Add custom app.

6. In the window that opens, you'll be prompted to add the LTI details for the Kami app. First, select the Program(s) you want Kami to be used on. Then, set the Version to 1.3 and enter 'Kami' in the Name field.
When finished, click Save and next.

7. On the next page, fill in the required fields with the following values:

Note: You can also find these values at the top of the Connect Kami to Toddle with LTI 1.3 registration page in the Kami License Dashboard (opened in step 3). They are the same for every school/district.

8. Scroll to the bottom of the window and enable the following options:
- Allow grade passback
- Allow roster access
- Allow reading result
- Allow reading gradebook columns
- Enable LTI tool for teachers
When finished, select Save.

9. After the Kami LTI has been added, find it in your list of LTI apps and select View.

10. In the LTI details window that opens, a list of Toddle LTI Credentials will be listed in the top panel. Copy and paste these values into the corresponding fields on the Connect Kami to Toddle with LTI 1.3 registration page in the Kami License Dashboard (opened in step 3).

After you complete the steps above, your Toddle registration will appear on the License Dashboard LTI 1.3 registrations page with a status of 'Waiting for first launch'.
Once Kami has been opened from within Toddle, this status will automatically change to 'Launched'.

If any changes need to be made, you can select the View button to Edit or Delete the registration. However, after the status changes to 'Launched', or if the license has expired, you will need to contact support@kamihq.com to change or remove it.
