Edit Assignment

Easily modify student assignments, even after they've been opened.

Who can use this?

👤 Teachers.

👤 Requires a Kami paid plan.

Teachers can use this feature with any Kami assignment that contains student-copy files. Therefore, non-Kami assignments, view-only, or share-one-copy files cannot use this feature.

What is Edit Assignment?

After creating and assigning a Kami assignment in your LMS, you'll have access to the Edit Assignment button (usually alongside the Class View button) when the assignment is opened.

This feature allows teachers to quickly make changes to their Kami assignment and automatically update all student copies, even if they've already started working on it.

How do you use Edit Assignment?

In your LMS, simply navigate to the assigned Kami assignment and select it to open the Kami window. In the pop-up that appears, select Edit Assignment.

The assignment will then open in the Kami window, where you can make the desired edits. When you're finished, select the Update all button in the upper-right corner to instantly update all student copies with your changes.

You can also easily switch to Class View at any point using the Edit Assignment/Class View toggle, located next to the Update all button.

📝 Certain LMS's require an assignment to be opened by a student in order to use Class View. If no students have opened the assignment yet, the toggle to Class View will be disabled.

Once a student opens the assignment, Class View will become available, and that student's work will be visible.

When will students see the new changes?

After you update the assignment, changes are immediately applied to all student copies. Therefore, students will see the changes in real time or after refreshing their browser tab.

If the student is not currently viewing the assignment, they'll see the changes next time they open it.
