Accessing the Kami license dashboard

The license dashboard can be accessed by users with license administrator privileges through the Account & Settings menu in Kami or by going directly to customerpanel.kamihq.com

Navigating the license dashboard

License dashboard tabs

On the left menu bar in the license dashboard, you'll can access the following tabs:

Licenses — Lists all the licenses you are assigned to. If you are a license admin, you'll also see a Manage License button that you can use to manage and deploy the users on the license.

Domains Returns a list of domains for which you are set as a domain admin. This role is separate from license admin.

Feature Permissions Allows you to turn specific features on/off for users assigned to that license. Learn more about the Feature Permissions tab and how to use it.

Managing Licenses

License administrators will have access to the Manage License button on each license they are an administor of, allowing them to view the license information.

Within the Manage License view, there are four separate tabs. Explore each of these and their functions:

Details

This tab allows license admins to find the specifics of their license and broad information regarding its usage.

License Details tab

    • Type refers to the license type. It can be a teacher, a school, or a district-wide level license for an education plan. It can also be a Pro or a Work license for a non-education plan.
    • Licensed Seats refers to the number of user seats purchased for this license.
    • Users Count refers to the number of users the license has been deployed to.
    • Validity refers to the license creation date and the current expiry date for the license.
    • If you do not have a Domain-wide deployment active on the license, the email domain will be empty. If you have a domain-wide deployment active, your deployed domains will show up here.
    • License Key refers to the unique key assigned to your license. The license key is mainly used for Teacher-type licenses. You can read more about different methods for deploying a license here.

Usage

This tab provides more detailed insights into the license users' activity. It displays multiple data sources, which can be customized using the dropdown options, and depicts them in charts/graphs.

Manage Users

This tab lists current users on the license. You can click any of the blue header rows to sort the information, or use the filter area to adjust your search options.

For example:

If you are looking for a specific user named Thomas, type %Thomas% and press Enter to locate them.

You can also search using segmentation to filter results. To do this, select the search bar and choose search builder.

If you are looking for only students, you can do the following combinations: is = student

If you are looking for only teachers or others, the following is the best setting: is not = student

Add Users

This tab provides several options for adding users to your license. Learn more and find the steps for each method.

    • Add User to License by email: This section allows you to add a user to your license quickly. If you are adding more than one user in this area, make sure to separate them line by line or by a comma.

    • Add/Remove Users to License using CSV: This section allows you to add or remove users using a list of potential or current users' emails. If you don't know how to create a CSV file, you can download a sample one.

    • Deploy License to Google Workspace Organization Unit: This section is designated for Google Workspace Admins and allows you to deploy your Google OU to this license. You must be both a Kami License Admin and have the appropriate Google Admin permissions from your district to use this method.
