How to deploy the Kami Chrome Extension and/or Kami Chrome Progressive Web App (PWA) to the domain or specific organizational units

Step 1. Log in to your Google Admin account.

Step 2. Select "Devices".

Step 3. On the left-hand side, click on "Chrome" > "Apps & extensions" > "Users & browsers".

Step 4. After clicking on "Users & browsers", you will be redirected to a page like the one shown below. On the left-hand side, select the parent domain or specific OU. In the bottom-right hand corner, you will see a series of yellow buttons with icons on them (as shown in the image below. Click on the yellow circle button with the “+” symbol on it. . Select "Add from Chrome Web Store" to add the extension and follow the next step below.

To add the PWA, select "Add by URL" instead and add this https://web.kamihq.com/

Step 5. In the search bar at the top of the page, use the keyword "Kami" to find both the Kami Chrome Extension (Kami for Google Chrome™). Click on them and press the "+ Select" button as indicated below.

Step 6. Under "Installation policy", select "Force Install".

We suggest that you block other PDF viewers, such as DocHub or Text-Help Read and Write, or at least ensure that they aren't set as the default PDF viewer.

This is because having multiple programs active at once may confuse students or cause conflict with the integrations during assignments. To disable other PDF viewers, simply follow the same previous steps to locate them in the Chrome store, and under “Installation Policy” select “Block”.

How to deploy the Kami Google Drive Add-on to the domain or specific organizational units

This is a vital add-on to install for the whole domain or OUs as this cuts the steps needed to open Google Drive files into Kami and it also reduces the prompts to authenticate access whenever a user tries to navigate their Google Drive through the app.

Step 1. While logged in with your Google Admin account, visit the Kami page in the Google Workspace Marketplace and install/add the app.

Step 2. You will then be shown a permission request. Click “ALLOW” and make sure to select the domain/s or OU/s that you want the Google Drive Add-on to be enabled on.
