Creating Kami Assignments in Schoology with the Kami Extension

Learn how to create assignments using the Kami LTI Integration for Schoology.

Updated this week

Who can do this?

πŸ‘€ Kami Assignments can be created by Schoology Teachers.

πŸ‘€ Requires a Kami paid plan.

Creating a Kami Assignment in Schoology is as easy as clicking a button, but before you start, you must first confirm that the Kami Extension is installed.

How to create a Kami Assignment in Schoology

1. Open the Schoology Assignment window

Navigate to your desired Schoology course. Select the Add Materials button, then select Add Assignment.

2. Select material to assign

A Create Assignment window will open, where you can click the Kami button to attach a Kami file to the assignment.

The Add Assignment From Kami window will then appear, where you can choose to attach a file from your Google Drive or OneDrive.

❗️Whichever drive option is chosen will require the students to have an account with that same provider. For example, an assignment file from OneDrive cannot be opened and saved into a student's Google Drive.

3. Create the Kami Assignment

Once a file has been added, you will see a Kami File attached in the Schoology Assignment window.

You can then complete all required fields and create the assignment.

Your students should now have access to the assignment and can start working. To view their work and send feedback in real-time, you can use the Kami Class View feature directly in Schoology.
