Using the Kami external tool integration in Schoology

To complete the steps in this article, your admin must first install the Kami external tool integration in Schoology. Otherwise, you can learn how to use the Kami extension to create assignments in Schoology instead.

 

What is the Kami external tool integration?

Our newest integration with Schoology gives you even more access to Kami features. With this installed, you can:

  • Create a Kami assignment in Schoology.
  • Create auto-grading assessments using Questions AI.
  • Sync grades in Kami with Schoology grade book.
  • Get real-time Insights into class performance.
  • Access and auto-save files in Google Drive or OneDrive.

 

Creating Kami assignments

1. Navigate to your desired Schoology course. Select the Add Materials button, then select Kami from the options on the right side.

2. In the Kami window that opens, you can attach a file from your Google Drive, OneDrive, the Kami Library, or upload from your computer.

3. After uploading your file, you can also enable Assessment Mode and Feature Control. When you're finished, select Attach.

4. The final setup step is to set the Schoology assignment settings. Here, you can configure grading settings, a due date, and more.
 
Once you are happy with these settings, select the Save changes button at the bottom of the window.

Grading Kami assignments

After creating a Kami assignment in Schoology, selecting it from the course's Materials list allows you to open the Schoology Grader, Class View, or Edit Assignment.

📝 You will only be able to open Class View and review student work after the student has opened the assignment.

After adding your feedback and a grade through the Schoology Grader or Class View, just select the Return button to send it back to the student.  Grade & return
