How does the Dictionary tool work?
The Dictionary tool will give you an Oxford English Dictionary definition of any word embedded in the document.
✏️ The Dictionary tool only works on embedded text, not within annotations. For example, it can be used on scanned documents or flattened annotations.
Select the Dictionary tool, then click on the word in the document you'd like to define.
The Dictionary tool is available in English (US), English (UK), and Espanõl. Read Aloud is available for students who require visual support, and language learners can click to hear the words read to them to practice pronunciation.
