Using the Questions AI tool with your LMS

Explore the options for assignments that use the Kami Questions AI tool in your Learning Management System.

Updated yesterday

Who can use this?

👤 The Kami Questions tool is available for Teachers.

👤 Requires a Kami paid plan.

The steps in this guide require an assignment that contains questions created with the Questions AI tool.

Assigning through your LMS

Find your Learning Management system below for specific steps on how to send students your assignments that include questions created with the Kami Questions AI tool:

Google Classroom

Assign the document by clicking the Assign button on the top navigation bar.

Canvas and Schoology

For Canvas and Schoology, you should first save your document with the questions you made to Google Drive or OneDrive.

Once the document is saved, create a Kami assignment directly in Canvas or Schoology and attach the saved document.

After you assign this to your students, they'll have access to the document with the questions for them to answer.

Answer view with Questions via Kami Class View

Once students have turned in their work, open Class View to view the graded results in Kami. The Question tool has an answer system specifically designed for this purpose.

The answers section can be found at the top left of the Class View document. Your students' answers will be shown horizontally in rows beside each question, as seen below:

How autograding works

Multiple Choice and Dropdown

  • Single-answer questions:

    • If a student's answer matches the answer key exactly, it'll be graded as Correct.

    • Otherwise, it will be graded as Incorrect.

  • Multiple-answer questions:

    • If a student's answer matches all correct options exactly, it'll be graded as Correct, and full credits given.

    • If a student’s answer includes no correct option, it'll be graded as Incorrect, and no credit will be given.

    • If a student’s answer includes at least one incorrect option, it'll be graded as Inaccurate, and no credit will be given.

    • You can adjust the points manually as well.

Short Answer

  • If the Allow partial matches setting is not selected, student answers must be exactly the same as your answer key (the same word order, spelling, spacing, and punctuation).

  • When the Allow partial matches setting is selected, student answers can be partially correct. If the student's answer matches the answer key exactly, it'll also be graded as correct.

  • The amount of points a question is worth can be adjusted manually as well.
