A few of the commonly asked questions surrounding using Kami for remote learning and our current offer of a license for any schools closing or planning for closure due to the COVID-19 outbreak.

What do I need to get started with this offer?

First, if you haven’t already created a Kami account please follow the link here (please ensure you sign up with your school domain. Then you’ll need to ensure that you have the Kami Chrome extension installed onto both the students and the teachers devices.

What can I do with Kami that I can’t do already do on paper?

For those familiar with the SAMR model for the adoption of new technology in education; Kami address all four stages of that process so no matter what level of technology you are on you can improve and evolve your classroom interactions.

On the most basic level, you can substitute the distribution of paper and other resources using our learning management system integration (you can find more information about that below on answer to the question “How do I push my assignments to my students” section. Using these LMS integrations also allows you to do some things that wouldn’t be possible on pen and paper, for example, our grading integration with Google Classroom allows you as the teacher to easily check in on student’s work remotely and do real-time interventions.

On a deeper level, we can also facilitate in-class discussions and work with group assignments where all of the students and the teachers collaborate on a single document together.

How does the license work:

The Domain License we offer means any user who signs up to Kami with an email on the school’s domain will be automatically added to the license. For reference, the email domain is listed after your email address (i.e Our support email address is support@kamiapp.com so the email domain would be kamiapp.com)
