Select tool

Click, move, and edit your annotations with the Select tool.

Who can use this?

👤 The Select tool is available for Students and Teachers.

👤 This is a free feature; users on any Kami plan can use this tool.

What is the Select tool?

The Select tool is the first tool on the Kami toolbar and lets you click, move, and edit annotations on your files.

It includes three selection modes, each useful for different types of content and actions.

1. Default Select

This option allows you to select individual annotations to edit or move.

When an annotation is selected, an action bar will appear with options that can be used on the annotation (such as move, rotate, Read aloud, etc.). This action bar will remain visible until another annotation or area of the document is clicked.

📝 Keep in mind that the options in the action bar will vary depending on the type of annotation selected.

2. Hand tool

The Hand tool is particularly useful for touchscreen devices or when a scroll option is unavailable. It lets you click the document to drag it up or down and adjust your view, making your document easily viewable across different device setups.

3. Select Annotations Tool

This tool is designed for multi-select annotations. It can select any drawings, shapes, text boxes, and equation tool annotations simultaneously. This allows you to easily move, copy & paste, or delete annotations on your document.
