One of several accessibility features available in Kami, giving every student the tools they need to learn their own way.

What is Predictive Text?

Predictive Text significantly boosts typing efficiency and spelling accuracy by providing word suggestions as you type.

This intelligent tool empowers diverse learners, from those with learning differences to English Language Learners, to communicate more confidently and independently.

Where can I find the Predictive Text tool?

There are several tools and features in Kami that support Predictive Text. Learn more about each below:

This tool will also soon be available to use in the Questions tool for short answers.

How to use Predictive Text

To use Predictive Text, select the Predictive Text icon in the annotation tool you are using, then just start typing to see suggestions as you type.

Once you see the desired word in the list of suggestions, you can either select the word in the list or simply type the suggestion number to add it to your sentence.

Predictive Text Settings

The Predictive Text Settings can be accessed from the action bar of the annotation tool being used, as well as from Account & Settings (located in the Navigation Bar) > Settings.

In the Settings modal, you can:

Change the language of the suggested words.
Adjust the number of suggested words displayed.

Toggle Show numbers next to words to select suggestions using your keyboard.

Toggle Spelling assist (Note: this feature is enabled by default for all users)
- When enabled, Predictive text will suggest the likely correct spellings based on the characters typed.
- When disabled, Predictive text will only suggest words that match the characters typed so far.

Toggle Read on hover to hear words read aloud.
