Managing Kami's Google permissions
See which Google Drive and Google Classroom permissions Kami requests, what each one is used for, and how to manage full Drive access in your Kami settings.

What Google access does Kami need?
When you attempt actions in Kami that require additional Google access, Kami may prompt you to grant the permission(s) needed for that action.
For example, trying to open a file from Google Drive that you haven't previously opened in Kami will prompt you to grant Google Drive access, if you haven't already done so.
More access may be requested depending on your role in Kami (i.e., teachers using Kami with Google Classroom, or Admins configuring org-wide Kami deployments).
What Kami setting controls full Google Drive access?
1. Navigate to the Account & Settings menu, then select Settings.
2. Select the App Settings tab on the left-side panel.
3. Scroll down to the Connection Preferences section. Here, you'll find the Full Google Drive permissions setting.
When this setting is enabled, the following permissions may be granted to Kami:

- When opening a file that was not created in Kami, or has not been previously opened or created in Kami, you'll need to access an external link before loading the file.
- You won't be able to use your integrated Learning Management System.
- When selecting a file from Google Drive, thumbnails of files that have never been opened in Kami will be hidden.
