Installing the Kami external tool integration in Brightspace

What is the Kami external tool integration for Brightspace?

Enable the Kami external tool integration to get the most out of your Brightspace workflow:


Installing the Kami external tool integration

1. Open the Settings menu, then scroll down and select Manage Extensibility.

2. Then, select the LTI Advantage tab and click Register Tool.

3. Choose the Dynamic option, then tick Configure Deployment. This will simplify the overall deployment process.

In the Tool initiation registration endpoint field, paste the following URL:

https://web.kamihq.com/api/lti/oidc/register

Make sure to paste the URL (or type the link exactly as it's written above); otherwise, you will receive an error.

⛔️ If you are reinstalling the Kami LTI integration in Brightspace, it is important to change the name of the old deployment, as multiple names will break the deployment process for any future deployments.


Adding Kami to your Org Units

After registering the Kami external tool integration using the above steps, you must enable the app for your organizational units.

1. After registering, Kami will appear on the Disabled list of LTI Advantage tools. Tick the box to the left of Kami, then select the Enable button at the top of the page.

2. Kami will now be moved to the Enabled list. Open the Enabled tab, then find and select the Kami tool name from the list.

3. In the window that opens, scroll to the bottom and click the View Deployments link, which will open in a new tab.

4. In the new External Learning Tools tab, select the Kami tool name from the list.

5. In the window that opens, scroll to the bottom and select the Add Org Units button.

In the pop-up window that opens, find and select the desired org units to have Kami external tool integration. When finished, press Add.
