Deploying the Kami app for Microsoft Teams

Integrate Kami with Microsoft Teams for seamless assignments, auto-sync with OneDrive, and easy access to Kami’s tools directly in Office apps like Word and PowerPoint.

👤 Requires a Kami paid plan.

 

What is the Kami app in Teams?

The Kami app helps you get more out of Teams. With this installed, you can:

  • Create Teams assignments from Kami.

  • Easily access Kami tools and features from Microsoft Office apps, like Word and PowerPoint.

  • Access and auto-save files in OneDrive.

 

Installing the Kami app

1. Log in to Teams using your Microsoft 365 Admin account and open the Teams apps drop-down on the left menu bar, then select Manage apps

Once on the Manage apps page, select the Org-wide app settings button.

In the Org-wide app settings window, confirm that the toggle for Third-party apps is enabled.

Allowing Kami to be used by your Teachers/students

1. Once the app installation is complete, open the Teams apps drop-down on the left menu bar and select Permission policies.

2. Select the + Add button to add a new permission policy, or use an existing permission policy.​

3. If your setting under Third-party apps is Allow all apps, then everything should be working for your users.

  • If your setting here is Block all apps, you will need to change it so that Kami can be used.

  • If you have Allow Specific apps and block all others, or Block specific apps and allow all others, please follow the steps below:

📝 The following steps are only relevant if you need to block specific apps or allow specific apps.

1. Select the Allow apps button to add specific apps to your allow list.

2. Search for the Kami app in the search bar, then select Add and Allow.

3. Kami should now be listed under your Allowed apps list. Click Save.
