What is a digital notebook?
Digital notebooks allow students to stay organized online by keeping all of their notes and resources in one place. Teachers can view student work in real time and provide direct support, whether the class is in person or learning remotely.
Plus, they're easy to create! All you need to do is put the cover and pages together, then assign it to your students as you would for a Kami assignment.
Creating digital notebooks in Kami
1. The first thing your notebook will need is a front cover. The Kami Library includes a pre-made one you can easily open in Kami to get started.
Otherwise, if you prefer to design and customize your own cover, you can create one from scratch using a blank page in Kami or in your graphic design program of choice (such as Canva). When finished, just save it as a PDF to upload to Kami.

2. After creating and loading your cover page into Kami, you can use the Add pages button at the bottom of the screen to add the notebook's inside pages. Choose from blank, lined, grid, or even music sheets!
You can also use the Split and merge tool to add worksheets, learning resources, and lessons from the Kami library, your OneDrive/Google Drive, or your device.
💡 If you've used the Digital Notebook file from the Kami Library, some inside pages will already be included. To easily add more of these pages, use the Split and merge tool to duplicate them.

3. Once you've finished adding your pages, you can now assign the notebook to your students. This can be done through your LMS with the Kami integration (requires a Kami paid plan), or by sharing with your students directly from Kami.
With whichever sharing method you choose, remember to set the assignment so that each student gets their own individual copy. Otherwise, all students will receive and use the same notebook.
