The AI Assisted Feedback feature is here to streamline your grading process. It intelligently scans student documents and generates high-quality, relevant feedback as draft comments.

How to use AI Assisted Feedback

Ready to give it a try? Follow these simple steps to start generating feedback.

1. Open the student's work in Kami, then select the Comment tool from the toolbar, and choose Generate Feedback among the different options.

   

    

2. The AI Assisted Feedback dialog will open. Select your settings to generate the feedback. Below are the useful settings you can adjust before generating:

   1. Grade level: This setting will adjust the readability.

   2. Language: As the name suggests, this setting determines the language of the feedback.

   3. Generate feedback on: This setting allows you to select specific pages for the tool to analyze and generate feedback on.

   4. (Optional) In the "What type of feedback would you like to give?" section, you can provide more specific prompts for the AI to follow. It also allows you to upload a file to use as additional context and guidelines.

   5. Lastly, a toggle is available for you to enable if you want to instruct the AI to follow the tone of existing comments. Note: Your data is anonymized and won't be retained by the AI, so your privacy is protected. Refer to our privacy policy for more information.

   

    

3. Once you are ready, click the Generate Feedback button. The AI will then analyze the document and generate multiple draft comments on the right-hand side of each page.

   The number of comments generated will vary depending on the page's content and your configured settings.

   

    

4. Review each suggested comment. To make any changes, simply click on the text and start editing.

   

    

5. Click the Approve button when you are satisfied with the result. Otherwise, click the Delete button to remove them. The comments you approved will now appear as standard Text Comment annotations on the document, ready for the student and other collaborators to see.
