Who can use this?

πŸ‘€ The Kami Questions AI tool is available for Teachers.

πŸ‘€ Requires a Kami paid plan.

We always recommend reviewing any AI-generated content in Kami to ensure it is accurate, appropriate, and matches your unique teaching style.

Preparing your assessment

To autograde in Kami, you'll need to use the Question tool in the toolbar (shown below).

If you have a learning resource (with or without included questions), you can easily Convert or Generate questions from that resource using the AI options.

If you don't want to use AI, you can also create questions from scratch.

Using Generate Questions (AI required)

Select your Grade level, the type of question (Multiple-Choice or Short Answer), and the number of questions you want to generate.

Once generated, you can select and edit each question.

Using Create from scratch (No AI required)

This feature automatically starts you with a template question you can fill out. At the bottom, you can change the type of question you want. Select the + at the top or bottom of the Questions Panel to add more questions.

Editing your questions

Some important notes when editing your questions:

  1. Check the question in case it needs some tweaks.

  2. Make sure you set the correct number of points for each question. The total amount out of 100 will come after autograding is complete.

Placing your questions in the document

You can place the entire question in a blank space on your page, or drop a marker that students can click to open the question in the Question Panel on the side of the page.

✏️ Before assigning your document, delete any unwanted questions in the Question Panel, as everything will show up for the student (even the ones you haven't placed in the document).

Using different Learning Management Systems to assign assessments and how to view autograded work.

Google Classroom

Once you've finished your assessment, go to the File menu at the top right of your Kami window and click Create Assignment.

✏️ There's no Assessment Mode for Google Classroom, so your students won't be locked out once they submit their work or the due date passes. But you can track if and when they've re-submitted.

Once students answer the questions, you can view their autograded scores in Class View, shown in light grey. If you edit the grade manually, the font color will turn black.
