How to Disable Kami as the Default File Viewer

Why is Kami automatically opening my Files, and How Do I Change That?

Updated this week

If Kami is set as the default viewer, any PDF you open from these sources will open in Kami. However, if you want Kami to stop opening your PDF files automatically, you must turn off specific settings in Kami and Google Drive.

Disabling it through your Kami Settings

Open Kami, click the profile icon in the upper right corner, and then click the Settings option.

Click the "App Settings" tab and under the "File Preferences" section, untick the "Automatically load files in Kami" checkbox.

Disabling it through your Google Drive Settings

Go to https://drive.google.com and click the gear icon at the top right corner. Then click the "Settings" option to open the settings menu.

Click the "Manage apps" tab and look for "Annotate with Kami" in the app list. Once you locate it, untick the "Use by default" option to disable Kami.
