The Split & Merge tool is a paid feature that allows you to mix and match existing files to create new resources.

The Split & Merge tool lives in two places:

For new users, you can access the Dashboard by clicking Kami’s Google Chrome or Microsoft Edge extension. Otherwise, go to web.kamihq.com

Open your document in Kami and select the Tools icon in the top right. In the dropdown, select Split & Merge files to load your document into the Split & Merge tool.

You can input files into the Split & Merge tool from Kami, Google Drive, OneDrive, or your device. To find materials you’ve already used in Kami, go to your Kami Uploads folder after you select Google Drive or OneDrive.

Once you’ve selected what you want to use, click Next below your materials.

Select the trash icon to remove the page.

To separate files from their current file and to add new pages to files simply drag and drop.

Here, we can see that multiplication and addition worksheets are together in one file. To separate, we drag the addition worksheets into the box called Drag and Drop pages. To merge files together, it's the same process of dragging and dropping pages into the same row.

To rearrange the order of your pages, drag and drop them to create your preferred ordering. When you export your content to Kami, the Kami document will appear in the order that you arranged.

Use the circular arrows to rotate the page 90 degrees on each click. This will change the way the pages look when you open the file in Kami again.

Creating different files that need the same page? Use the Duplicate button to instantly duplicate that page.

Merge mode is for taking your files/pages and converting them into one file. You can Merge extra pages or whole files into one.

In the Kami library, each resource has an Add to Split & Merge Drawer button.

You can select this button on as many resources as you like to add them to your drawer in the bottom right-hand corner. Select Split & Merge when finished.

Now you’ll see your selected templates in your drawer. Click Open in Split & Merge.

From here you can add more materials, otherwise, click Next.

What file types can be used in the Split & Merge tool?

The Split & Merge tool is compatible with PDFs and all other Google file formats (Slides, Docs, etc.), though they will be converted to PDFs before they’re loaded into the Split & Merge tool.
