Setting up Kami

Install the Kami extension

✏️ If your school or district has purchased a Kami license, this step might have already been taken care of by your tech administrator. You can skip this step if you already have the Kami extension installed in your browser.

Sign up and/or log in to Kami

Open your assignment with Kami

Using the Kami sharing link given by your teacher

Click the Kami Sharing Link you received from your teacher. You'll be taken directly to your own copy of the assignment in the Kami App. Below is an example of an email with a Kami link:

Now that you have your file in Kami, you can start working on your assignment using all of Kami's tools and features.

Share back your Kami assignment

Once you have opened your file in the Kami App, you can immediately share your assignment so that your teacher can see your progress and collaborate with you. Otherwise, you can share it once you have finished working on your assignment.

Follow these steps to share your document back to your teacher:

Hit the Share button at the menu bar to open the Sharing settings.

The sharing setting will look like this if your file is in Google Drive. Select Anyone with the link and Editor for the Sharing Permission. Then press the Copy button to copy the Kami sharing link.

If your file is in OneDrive however, the sharing setting will look like this instead. Select My Organization and Editor for the Sharing Link Permission. Then press the Copy button to copy the Kami sharing link.

After copying the Kami Sharing Link, send it back to your teacher for them to open your assignment and grade it. Sending the Kami Sharing Link back differs depending on how your teacher instructed you to do it. Please ask them if you are unsure how.

Here is an example of what it might look like if you use email for communication:
