The Mark-Up Tools are found under the Markup section of the Tool Bar as found here:
Allows you to highlight text throughout a PDF.
You can hover over the annotation to change the color, copy the text on the page, and create a comment.
You can free draw with the Highlight Tool by selecting the 'Box Highlighter' option.
How to use: Ensure the Highlight tool is selected, then click-and-drag over the text you wish to annotate.
Things to keep in mind: If you find that you are not able to select text on the page, please see our article on the Text Recognition Tool.
If you are still having issues with the text after running the Text Recognition tool on the document, there is also a workaround of using the box highlighter over the top of the page which is free-hand and less accurate.
The Strike-through Tool allows you to strike through text. This is most useful for those editing or proofreading a document.
How to use: Ensure the Strike-through tool is selected, then click-and-drag over the text you wish to annotate.
Things to keep in mind: The Strike-through Tool will only work on the embedded text on the document itself and not inserted text-boxes that have be added.
The Underline Tool:
The underline tool can be used to help emphasize a point or draw attention to the area.
How to use: Ensure the Underline tool is selected, then click-and-drag over the text you wish to annotate.
Things to keep in mind: If you want to have a section of text be both highlighted and underlined, the best method for that is to underline the word or sentence first THEN highlight over it.
The Color Selection Tool:
The color tool can be used to select the color used for the other tools in the Markup toolbar. By clicking on the selector at the bottom, you can change the quick access colors to fit your preferences.
How to use: Once the Tool is selected, hover over the color selection tool and choose the color you want to use from the available selection.
Things to keep in mind: If you cannot find the color that you like in the toolbar selection, you can use the palette icon to create a custom palette from a wider selection of colors that are displayed in the above image.
