What is the Reading Assist Tool?

The Companion Reading Assist tool helps students with ADHD, dyslexia, or general reading fatigue to focus on the content they are reading.

It provides options to add either a screen mask or a reading ruler in various colors, which follow the user's cursor so that they can focus on one area of text at a time.

How to use the Reading Assist tool

1. Open the Reading Assist Menu

Click the Reading Assist button in the Kami Companion toolbar.

2. Select a Reading Assist Mode

Click one of the Reading Assist Modes (Reading ruler or Screen masking) to enable them.

3. Adjust Reading Assist Settings

Change the look of the selected Reading Assist Mode by clicking the Settings button.

4. Exiting Reading Assist Mode

To close Reading Assist, click the Exit button at the bottom of the webpage.
