Kami Companion has three selection modes: Default, Word, and Area selection. Each mode is useful for different websites and content.
This feature is designed to help students and users understand challenging vocabulary directly within the webpage. This eliminates the need to navigate to another website or application for definitions.

Which websites are supported?
Supported Websites
Kami Companion works with many of the most popular education websites. Most features are available and function as expected. On some sites, a small number of features (such as Immersive Reader) may be limited or unavailable.
Here is what each Support Status means:
Supported - All Companion features are fully functional.
Partially Supported - A single companion feature is not fully compatible with the website.
Limited - Two or more companion features are not fully compatible with the website.

Can I use Kami Companion with other extensions like Read&Write?
Yes, but some features may conflict when multiple extensions are active. If you run into any issues, try temporarily turning off other extensions to see if that resolves the problem. We’re actively working on improving compatibility and reducing extension interference.

Only license administrators have access to this dashboard. If your school or district has a paid Kami license, you will need to ask your administrator to turn on Kami Companion for you. Users with a paid license should have access to the dashboard. Please contact us at support@kamiapp.com if you have any issues with it.

Your Kami extension may be on an older version of Kami and needs to be updated to a version that supports Kami Companion. Please follow the instructions here (https://beta.kamihq.com/doc/update-kami-companion) to get the latest version of Kami Companion.
