Creating Kami Assignments in Brightspace

This article will run through the steps in creating an article and grading in Brightspace

Updated today

Open the Kami Assignment Pop-up

To get started, go to the Course that you want to create an assignment in.

Once there, click on the Content section and select Add existing. You will see an option to add a Kami Assignment.

After you click this option, you will see a Kami pop-up with various options for your assignment.

Attach your file

In the Kami pop-up, select the file you want to push out as a Kami assignment, set a score, and scroll down to click Attach.

✏️ Using the Content menu to create an assignment will create a Copy for each student and will not be a shared document across your class.

Open the Kami Assignment

Once that's done the assignment should show up under the unit you made it in, make sure that you Toggle the assignment Visible at the top.

Creating an assignment under the Assignment section

You can create an assignment under the Assignment section using the Insert Stuff button.

Make sure you change the submission type to Text Submission or Observed in Person, as the students won't be able to submit their Brightspace assignment if the Submission type is File Upload.

Once that is done, the student should now be able to see and open the Kami assignment in their course.
