Using Edit Assignment in OnCourse

Learn how to edit your Kami Assignment after pushing it out to students.

Updated over 3 months ago

What is Edit Assignment?

Edit Assignment allows you to edit the file template and have those changes appear on all student copies of a Kami Assignment you've already assigned, even if your students have started working.

Who can use Edit Assignment?

Teachers can use this Feature on any Kami Assignment containing student-copy files. This means non-Kami assignments, view-only, or share-one-copy (collaborative) files cannot use this feature.

How to use Edit Assignment

You can access Edit Assignment by opening the template file of your chosen Kami Assignment.

Assignment Page

Once you select the Kami assignment you want to edit, you'll see options to open in Class View or Edit Assignment.

✏️ If none of your students have opened the document, it will automatically take you to the Edit Assignment section.

Select Edit Assignment.

Make the changes in the file, and then once ready, click on the Update all button.

Once you select the Update all button, you'll see the confirmation window shown below. Click Update to confirm and apply the changes.

When will students see the new changes?

After clicking the Update all button, changes are immediately applied to all student assignment files. Students will see the changes in real-time.

Class View toggle

At the top right-hand corner, you'll see a toggle to switch between Class View and the Edit Assignment feature. This makes navigating between the two features easier.
