Adjust

Use Kami Companion to adjust text complexity with a simple slider to better match learner needs.

What is the Adjust tool?

The Adjust tool allows teachers and students to adjust the difficulty of selected text using an interactive difficulty slider.

By moving the slider toward Easy or Hard, users can instantly regenerate the content at a different reading level or complexity, without altering the original meaning.

💡 The levels used in this tool are defined using AI to target the median range of standard reading scores for each grade. This ensures that the generated text matches the typical complexity of a student's reading level.

This tool is especially helpful for differentiation, scaffolding, and increasing or decreasing rigor on demand.

Adjust uses the same AI modal experience as the other Companion Understand tools. Generated content can be copied for use elsewhere, while the original text remains unchanged.
